When I try to start the media player in XP I get a message 'Internal application error has occured' and when I click 'ok' it gives a message about addresses where fault occured. What can I do.

have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software?

I tried removing it using the windows xp cd but it only removed the .exe file and when I restored it the

problem was still there. When I try deleting the folder it tells me it can't because it is being used.

Message: Instruction at "0x591c2522 referenced memory at "0x595c2a4c". The memory cannot be "read"

okay, don't uninstall it from the XP CD. go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall it from there. go to the Program Files folder on your hard drive and delete the Windows Media Player folder. then restart your system, re-install media player from their own website.

Installed media player 10 but no joy. Still get   "an internal application error has occurred" but not

showing details of error now.

if that doesn't work i suggest installing a different media player, i.e. real player, winamp, etc.... best of luck to you!

Click OK
Then Click start again and then Run.
Type in regsvr32 vbscript.dll
Click OK
