Just to clarify, I have Windows Media Player set to play all file types.  When the .mpg video is playing inside the Internet Explorer window, there are also Media Player buttons near the bottom of the screen.  But it is not the external Windows Media Player.

You might be able to download the clip and run it. Post the site if you want; wouldn't mind seeing it.

Neither of my browsers will open that site. It must be down.

Many of the videos I'm referring to are at www.ebaumsworld.com

I just tried too, and the site is down.  But it is an interesting place to visit!

Just been to that site, http://www.ebaumsworld.com/ ; Clicking on any video, goes to a page that says 'click here to play video', but clicking on that it goes to a page, 'download your video from here'. The ones I tried were all .wmv files, and WMP is happy to play them from disk.

I could not find any .mpg files on that site, nor did any files play from the page.

The first three videos on this page at ebaumsworld.com are mpg's.

OK, but same thing applies; I click on 'click here to watch video', and that goes to 'click here to start your download' and the downloaded file (actually an .mpeg file) plays OK in WMP.

I'd say 95% of the time, those videos and others play perfectly on my computer too.  The malfunctions generally occur after I have watched several videos over a prolonged period of time.  Strange things start to happen.  For example, I have Windows Media Player set to play mpg files.  Yet suddenly QuickTime will take over that chore.  And as I mentioned in my first post, these videos will sometimes play inside the IE window itself, which looks really weird on my 18 inch monitor.  I suppose this is just a glitch with my computer, maybe a video driver issue, because I certainly can't find any settings to correct it.
