Windows Media Player

On my computer, I do not have Windows Media Player anymore. I deleted it because it was not working. I go and try to reinstall it and it will not work. I've tried multiple versions of Windows Media Player to see if I can get any of them to install and they won't. Media Center plays the video though, just not songs when I click them. Anyone know what to do? O_o

Hi, and welcome to the forum:

How did you delete WMP10?  If you just deleted the icon on your desktop, it will still be there, in your C/Program Files/Windows Media Player folder. Look for wmplayer.exe

I removed it with Add/Remove Programs.

This is in my folder:

The two files that will open are "setup_wm" <--setup and "wmsetsdk" <--update

The setup says what the others had said "there is a newer version.." and the update says that I have a newer version already.

Ok, the setup is probably detecting updates you installed for wmp.

In your Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs, make sure the "Show updates" box at the top is checked, and remove any hotfixes for WMP you see. Reboot, and try the reinstall of WMP again.

Should I delete the security updates/regular updates for WMP too?
