Windows refuses to install new programs. Error 1327.Invalid Drive: E:\

I've been receiving this error originally when trying to install Command & Cconquer 3.

Error 1327.Invalid Drive: E:\

I thought it was just the game but after attempting to install the latest version on Opera I got the same result right after the intallation started up. This is very frustrating as I can't add new programs to my machine - does anyone know what is causing this error?

It seems that you have changed the system drive letter from C:/ to E:/ while installing windows xp. Since you have changed the drive letter, the new applications when installing, are not able to locate the system folder C:/

If you have changed the system folder while installing windows xp, please perform the steps mentioned in the following MS knowledge base link ...

HOW TO: Change the System/Boot Drive Letter in Windows [Q223188]

Please perform the steps mentioned on the above link to fix the issue.
