Windows task manager

Using the windows task manager, if I click on the processes tab, AOLssc.exe uses the most memory. I have two CIDAEMON.exe files running and I have five svchost.exe files running.

Because you see multiple entries with the same name in the hask manager does not mean there is more that one file by that name   It does mean that is more than on instance of a processes running.   I have seven instances of svchost.exe running and no copies of cidaemon.exe running.   Unless you are experience problems, it is not an issue.

Cidaemon is part of the Windows indexing service. If you have two instances running, it is most probably because you have two indexes set up.
You can check that
click start, run, type
compmgmt.msc
press enter.
In the Computer Management window that opens, click on the + next to 'services and applications', then on the + next to indexing service. Each item below that is an index. On my PC I have just one called system. Clicking on the + next to it shows a folder called directories. Click on that and in the right pane it tells you which drives/folders are included or excluded from that index (you can add or remove folders from the index there also, but stop the indexing service first, by right clicking on indexing service icon and click stop).

If you have more than one index, you can consider whether you need both, or whether combining them might be better. (when my Dell came it had two indexes as Dell had added an index to just index Dell folders: I deleted that by right clicking on it and clicking delete; since then I only have one instance of Cidaemon running)).

See also the sticky about CiDaemon at the top of this forum; long ago I posted some information there about the indexing service that you may find useful).
