*** Windows Vista : Order Status 'PENDING' Thread ***

Question

With this thread, i would like to add all of the users that do not have their Vista upgrade cd's. Please include the date that you signed up for the update. Hopefully if this thread stays up, we can add users to the list, and hopefully i can cross them off when they get their cd. When you do get your cd, let me know so i can cross you off the list!!

I'm more curious on how many people don't have their cd's.

Ordered Vista November 29th, own 3 Dell systems and have ordered Dell systems for clients many times, now rethinking future client recommendations. If I don't get a Vista ship notification by the end of today I will be forced to buy Vista retail because I am currently trying to support people who are getting new systems in with Vista installed and I trusted Dell to deliver my Vista in a timely manner.

BTW Dell sales rep told me this configuration would smoothly run all Aero functions but I am pretty sure it will not!

Rememmber country is relivent; I don't think Dell has shipped one order to the  UK yet.

I ordered a couple of them to test. One on 1/29 and the other on 2/24. Both are still marked as pending on the upgrade site.

Forgot to add that neither has arrived yet.

I am in the US.

Still no change in status for either order as of 3/13/07.

Ordered XPS 700 with Dell Vista Business upgrade on Oct 29th.   Ordered Vista upgrade first day site was active (date not given with order) - status pending   Have called once to update credit card info, info never changed on their site, also had tried to update the credit card info via their website tools, but that seems to not have been updated either. I guess I will let my wife call the next time, perhaps a womans touch will do better than mine. :smileyhappy:

Good idea and you provide an outlet to vent frustrations. You should have a separate data base for Canadians as we were prevented from registration for one month. I suspect that this will have an effect on the delivery date as well.

ordered 3 units:  2  of xps410 on november 6 and 1 of e521 on december 12   all three were registered for upgrade (without any issues) as soon as i received them   all three have pending status at this time   my account was initially 'hit' for 3 $10 charges, but now they are gone   still waiting and being patient - i can read that many are having issues with installations

Also received confirmation on 11/29 and have not received upgrade. At this point, given all the headaches, I kinda' don't care...although the 'first in first out' concept is obviously right up there with one size fits nobody.

Unresolved Issue request submitted(no response) Status:  Pending               Old credit card info still on website   When my account is charged, it will be rejected and will be redirected to Upgrade website to update my info before 3/31/07 or the order will be cancelled(this has already happened to other people already)

Purchased 12-18-2007  Received 12-26-2007 Began trying to Order Express Upgrade 01-15-2007 Ordered 02-01-2007   Once the site started excepting Service Tag Numbers Pending Since 02-26-2007 Pending 03-09-2007 I personally feel I was duped into this so called Express Upgrade. My daughter ordered her Dell and got hers with Windows Vista installed. Go figure !

Received my Dell - December 4th - ordered Vista upgrade around the 20th of December - has had PENDING on the status UNTIL yesterday - now NOTHING - like I never even submitted it - I'm DONE with the DELL VISTA program - I already have the Vista Home Premium OS - haven't installed it yet - and honestly I probably won't - at least for a long time -- I've lost total confidence in Dell - and that's sad - because up till now I was a huge fan of Dell -- it's unreal how a company's integrity can go down the tube in such a short period of time - and my thought behind this really has nothing to do with Vista or the upgrade situation -- I've had several issues with the new pc - tech support and customer support on all occasions was a complete joke. I surely wish I hadn't purchased the 3 year warranty - but hindsite's 20/20.

Same experience for me. I got my new system at the end of December and registered right away. A couple of weeks ago Dell put a charge on my card for the upgrade. After a week of not finalizing the order, the charge was reverted. Now I sit and wait with my status as 'Pending'. I may have missed my opportunity.
