Windows Vista Product Key

Hello,

I have had my laptop for about a year and 3 months now. It has crashed twice since then. After the second time it crashed after a couple of days after it was fixed my screen was just totally black and in the bottom right hand corner it says that my copy of Windows is not genuine. It asks me then to active it. When I go to that and enter my product key it says that it is invalid and that I need to buy a new one. What do I do?

Thank you

Have you done any upgrades to Windows, like upgrade to Professional or Ultimate, or are you still running Home Premium?  What Product Key did you enter?  Did you use the Change Product Key in the System Properties page?

No I haven't upgraded to any of those. I am still running the home premium. I was using the product key that is on the system disk.

Yes I have tried that one too, neither work. It says that the product key is invalid.

On the system disk?  You should have a sticker on a side of your system (or on the bottom, if it is a laptop) that has your Product Key on it.
