Windows Vista Upgrade

When someone is in business they should stand behind their word.  I bought a Inspiron 1705 last December 2006 and was told I would be receiving a free vista upgrade when it was out.  I called about my upgrade this evening before your office closed at 5:00 pm and the man told me that the deadline was March 31, 2007  and it would be on my invoice.  It was not on my invoice because my invoice was before Windows Vista was out on the market and no one knew when Windows Vista was going to be complete.  You did not send me a letter to let me know of the deadline and now I am informed that I cannot get my free upgrade.  You send me e-mails all of the time and said nothing about the deadline.  I will be telling my family and my corporation that I work for that Dell does not stand behind their word.  Until you decide that I should get my Free Vista upgrade like I was promised this is how it is going to be and I will NEVER buy a Dell product again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call Customer Service and explain the situation.  You are a first time poster and obviously have not see the hundreds of posts of this subject.

I feel your pain, and agree. I have a whole list of companies I refuse to do business with, it does not hurt them but definitely makes me feel better.

Unfortunately Dell sells so many PC's now that they can make 100's of customers a day mad, and will see no difference in their bottom line. It is why they do what they do.

Another one that doesn't read, or follow up....

Self inflicted wound, and looking to blame others for their own shortcomings.

I too have brought my Dell system in Dec 2006, but never got any information from dell that the vista upgrade should be redeemed by 31st March 07. It was me tracking and enquiring about the upgrade, when it will be released, how can I get the CD, what is the cut off date, what is the shipping cost, etc...etc... I was very eager about having vista. So I chased it, got it, loaded it and it does a fantastic job.

There should have been some homework done so as to achieve something rather to just blame somebody for nothing of their fault.
