Did you just make any changes to your system especially updating a driver?
I think this could be a driver error
Right click My Computer / Properties / Hardware / Device Manager.
Look for "Yellow" errors
Also turn off that memory dump
Right click "My Computer"/Properties/Advanced/Startup and Recovery/Settings
Clear the check from "Automatically Restart"
In the"Write Debugging Information" drop down box, select "None"
The only change I did was last week I was cleaning out the computer and deleted old programs not used, and defraged and all that. I try to make sure all that stuff is kept up. Cleaned cookies, deleted all old e mail pictures, etc. I asked the family and nobody has downloaded any new programs. My Dell automatically updates, should I turn that setting off?
There was no yellow errors listed. And I can't remember if anything was red, I'll have to check again. I'll run home at lunch and let you know! :smileywink: thanks!
No, it would not work since we have not done anything to try to fix it YET.:smileyhappy:
We need to find out what the problem is first.
So,what did you see in Device Manager?
Have you made any changes to the system lately?
Here is another place to check for errors
Control Panel / Performance and Maintenance / Admin Tools / Event Viewer / System.
Look for "Red" errors. Double click on error.
If there are a lot, some of them will be duplicates so just post one of each.
Take a note of the Event ID and also the Source and post them back.
Please post all the required information :smileyhappy:
ok, one yellow error way at the bottom dated 3/28/05. Source: w32time, Event: 36, System clock unsynchronized.
There were several red errors and I'll list some of them. There was no way I could get all. These are listed from the top down:
#1 5/5/05: Service Control Manager. Type: error Event Id#7031
The pqipqaoyb services terminated unexpectedly. it has done this 1 time. the following corrective action will be taken: restart the service. For more info see help and support.
#2 Event Id#7009, time out: waiting for the gibcpxgxspmouy service to connect.
#3 same as #2
#4 Event Id #7031, waiting for the gibcpxgxspmouy service to connect.
#5 Same as #2
#6 Event Id#1003, Error code 100000d1. Parameter 1fec, 77000, parameter 2 0000002, parameter 3 00000000, parameter 4 f9786484, then there is a little box with bytes listed in it on the bottom of the error box.
#7 Same as #1
#8 same as # 2
like I said, there were a lot more, but I had to get back to work! :smileytongue:
The auto restart was unchecked and the debugging has "none", I had done that the other day, but checked to make sure.
I can't keep the computer on long enough to get anything done. I'm lost. Im thinking I might just re-install but I don't want to make any more problems then I have already. Anthything else before I bite the big one? :smileytongue:
Those event logs referring to strange services either stopping unexpectedly or failing to connect:
pqipqaoyb
gibcpxgxspmouy
if those really are the names shown, it seems to me very suspicious, possibly malware or virus; I don't know of any legitimate services with such names (which seem random).
The RAM "stick" is about all you will be able to do under these circumstances.
"Stick" just means the plastic enclosure which contains the RAM in your machine. If you open up the case you will see if you have 1 or 2 in the slots for RAM. If you have 2 follow my suggestions about trying to run with 1 of them removed. If you cannot boot up at all with that 1 stick of RAM, take it out and try with only the other one in the slot.
I would not try to reinstall until you find out if you have bad RAM
one of my biggest problems it that I keep talking you you guys from either work or the kids computer. I can't get the computer with the problems on long enough to do anything. It only works for about 5 minutes before that message comes up. And to get online forget it, I get on for a few minutes and thats done.
I'll check out the information above and let you know. Thanks for trying to helping me!:smileywink:

This could also be a RAM problem.
If you have 2 sticks take one out and see how the system runs. Then swap them over and try with the other one. This can identify a bad stick.
Here are 2 free programs to test memory. Either can be put on a floppy.(if you can manage to run one)
memtest86 http://www.memtest86.com/
Windows Memory Diagnostic http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
If you are considering reinstalling make sure your RAM is OK first.

But it may not be related to the stop notices.
More links on those stop notices in

In left column click on 0A and on D1 in the right column for the two you gave
