I just spent 2 hours on the line with technical support. they determined my hard drive is shot (his words).
I dont know what to do from here - they recommended I extend or renew my warranty which expired in 05. The laptop is 3 years old - I am not sure what to do - is it worth it to renew the warranty or should I just replace the harddrive? Do I replace it with the same 40gig harddrive that was in it?
The whole chat thing with the tech was very frustrating. After 2 hours and determining my hard drive is shot, i lost the tech when he was telling me he would send me a new harddrive. Then I spent 30 minutes getting him back and then he told me I was out of warranty, gave me a number to call to extend my warranty and logged off again without even asking if I had anymore questions.
I called the number he gave me, waited another 30 minutes and then was told the department I need is closed. I am pretty frustrated and devistated that i will be losing everything on the computer as well as having to replace the harddrive which I do not know how to do.
Any advice anyone can offer will be greatly and most appreciated!
