Windows XP2
Hey guys does anyone know when Windows XP Service Pack 2 will be released? Also, what the users will be able to do with it. Because, it seems to me anyway w/ sp1 that the user has no options with it.

It should be released late this summer. The major features of it are enhanced security features, among which are a new firewall which will monitor both incoming and outgoing traffic (and be enabled by default).

SP2 will have many new features on it. Depending on your level of Windows XP knowledge and usage for networking administrators SP2 is going to be very nice.
The security center is very nice and easy to work with existing antivirus and firewall software titles.
The ability to use the Firewall from the command line using netsh is a bonus.
You can allow a program access through the firewall and disable the ports when the program is shut down.
The improved Blue Tooth support is a nice addition too
Wireless security has changed drastically. WPA and WPA-PSK Pre-Shared Key (PSK)
For information on WPA, see the following resources on the Wi-Fi Alliance Web site:

There are so many new enhancements with SP2 you may want to look at the SP2 website

as far a s a release date, when you see RC2 released it wont be long after that. SP2 is still RC1 ( Release Canidate)
