Any Dell OEM Windows XP CD should work. The procedure to correct the error is here.

Help - I have the same problem - no original XP home CD, and NO floppy drive.
Any ideas on how to boot the darn thing up. The pc is stuck in a loop with the \window\systems32\config\system missing or currupt.
Any ideas would be aprreciated.

easy way to do is put wondow on safe mode. then using system restore to whenever you want before problem happened. it works. don't need cd
