I looked thru a couple pages and cant find anything...though I did find a fix for the skipping song thing, awesome. I remember when I got this computer I had to install some "stuff" to get it to work right. I dont remember what it was only that I had to install on the computer, then move it into the correct WMP location. I doubled checked the file today on other computers. Put a copy of the file from old computer (where it works fine) on a flash drive along with the version I have on this computer and played both on the computers at school. Everything was fine, so I am left thinking that this computer is lacking something???? Anybody have any suggestions? Is it possible I didnt install to the right location???

I tried a few codec packets even one that is clamming to play 99% of videos but when I installed it I still only got audio on certain avi files in Vista. DivX files play fine but certain older avi's will refuse to play video no matter what codac pack I installed or what media player I used. Even VLC will only play the audio. I give up. On Vista it just won't play the video on certain avi's.
* Click Start- Control Panel- Sound
* Right click on the Speaker/Headphones icon and choose properties
* Click on the "enhancements" tab
* Select the "Disable all enhancements" check box
* When finished, restart the PC
Has the final testing phase of the new driver been sorted now and does it resolve the slipping of tracks issue ?
If so can you post the link to the new driver ?
"That workaround takes care of the skipping, but
some users on another thread are reporting that they lose 4 channel sound and are limited to 2 channel sound in WMP11 after disabling enhancements. I have escalated this issue to our software engineers. I will post back whatever I find."
Has this issue been resolved as well ?
Thanks mate
