"WSCGetProviderPath Failed" error -- help!
I have a Dimension Desktop with Windows ME. It was working fine until my son installed a digital camera, using the USB port. His installation went fine and the camera did what it was supposed to. Now, though, I cannot run anything; I just keep getting the same error messages, even after restarting, reloading Windows ME, etc. The messages are:
"WSCProviderPath failed, returning WSAEProviderFAILEDINIT"
"Rundll32 has caused an error in . Rundll will now close."
"Smproxy has caused an error in . Smproxy will now close."
"Smproxy has caused an error in KERNEL32.dll. Smproxy will now close."
"Annclist has caused an error in . Annclist will now close."
"Taskpanel has caused an error in .
HELP!!! The messages just continue; there is no stopping them. I cannot even get online to get help, but will try to keep checking back from my church computer to see if anyone has any ideas. Thank you!

Since this is not really a BIOS question, you might want to post this in the Sofware - Windows ME forum. That forum gets a much wider audience than does the BIOS forum. Have you considered using System Restore to restore your computer to a state it was in before the problem started?
