Xerox workcentre xk50cx

  • I cannot print any documents.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled my printer a number of times, trying to correct this problem. There is a yellow!  Inside device manager under other devices so I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times.
I have even reinstalled from the CD
I went to the Xerox site download the driver, because I cannot update the driver from this CD in device manager.  I get an error message that say --win--zip self--extractor header corrupt. possible cause; bad disk or file transfer error

    thanks in advance.

What operating system are you trying to install this on?  From what I find it is not Windows XP compatible.

As mentioned, the google search info I got only says Win 95 to Win 2000.  If that is really the case then the unit will not work on Windows XP and you will have to get a different model.

I don't recal me mentioning this -- I have Windows XP home edition and we bought the printer a few years ago and installed it on my home PC with the Windows XP home edition.
A couple of days ago, I uninstalled Windows XP home edition and reinstalled and for some reason.  I cannot get the printer installed from the Xerox software that came with the printer.

I know that Xerox discontinued this model, but it should be compatible with my Windows XP home edition because it has been installed for the past three years.
Thanks in advance

When you reinstalled Windows XP, did you reinstlal the Dell (moterboard) chipset drivers?  That could be an issue.

The site I looked at using the google search only listed Win95 to Win 2000 comparibility.  That was the reason I referenced that. But, you must have Windows XP specific drivers, the drivers for Win2000, ME, etc are not compatible.
