XP Boot problem
Have Inspiron 6000 with XP Pro. The error message is \system32\hal.dll is corrupt.
How do I get this reinstalled. This is the third or fourth time a DLL has been corrupt. Could it be a hardware problem causing this or another software?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Could be a bad driver or you harddrive might be starting to go. Boot the system and at the Dell Splash screen tap the F12 key. Once in the boot menu select the diagnostics and run the diagnostics on the harddrive.
