XP doesn't start in my Optiplex GX280

Last Friday my computer, when turning off, said "installing update 1 of 1 updates, wait". I switched the power off because it seemed to take time. Next day my windows xp didn't start any more. After the bios screen there is an empty screen and nothing happens. I have an installation cd but I don't have a boot cd to run the setup. How can I get a boot cd, or is there any other solutions for this problem?

The Operatting System is most likely corrupted because you didn't "wait" as instructed.  Sometimes this can take a long time.

Try starting in safe mode (F8) and if you can get into Safe Mode try a system restore back to a date prior to the updates.  System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools.

If the "installation cd" that you have is Windows (or Vista) then that is a bootable CD.

Consumer model PC"s have a Dell Recovery Partition accessed by CTRL/F11 for XP and F8 for Vista.  I don't know if the commercial systems have that but you can try.
