Xp fails to find modem. help

Question

I've just wiped the drive and put xp back on. But now it fails to find my modem. How can i fix this problem .Inspiron 6000 .Internet is broadband. I have 3 other computer hooked up(Macs)to it but this just dont seem to want to find the modem.

well you obviously have some form of internet access because you are posting here.

just download the needed drivers and transfer them over using removable media like a cdr or usb memory key.

That is where a little bit of "before the fact" planning comes in handy. Plan ahead and locate your pertinent drivers first. Don't go into things blindly then go into panic mode.

Those usb flashdrives are pretty good for storing & loading all your drivers. Makes it so much easier to have the drivers ready to install when you need them.....:smileyhappy:
