I have the same problem, and am new to this forum. I was hoping someone had this issue. Mine started a few days ago and after several unsuccessful attempts of trying to restore to a previous day, it started working. Have you heard about a soulution?

I have tried almost everything but now am left with the "F" word!

Yes I am left with the last option of "FORMATING" my harddisk and then reinstalling the MS XP and then all the drivers that came with the computer.

I must warn you that formating the harddisk is not for the fainthearted with deleting partitions and creating partitions etc. I have spent the last 2 days ( neglecting my work and kids) and I think that I am almost there!

Just one last try at formating the harddisk and then installing the drivers and I think the DELL telephone support have seen the last of me ( I hope!).

Apparently my drivers must have been so corrupted that just reinstalling the XP without reformating the diak would not work! My computer was in intensive care the GRIM REAPER must have thought he was gonna be lucky but I think not!

I will report back here once it is successfully done!

Cheers!

I just spoke to Dell support and they had me issue: Start, Run, type inetcpl.cpl then enter. Internet explorer properties appear. Select advanced tab and uncheck enable 3rd part browser extensions. Go to general tab and delete cookies, files and clear history. Appy, then OK and then restart. Good luck.
