For starters, a Repair Reinstall will do nothing to fix a corrupted registry, which is what your error message indicates. See the procedure
here for the repair to your problem. (Note that it is not always successful.)
If it does not work, your option is to reistall XP. See the procedure
here. Be sure to disconnect all external peripherals before doing the installation. The Bad_pool_caller error is normally due to interaction between a peripheral device and the installer.
Thank you for your reply unfortunatly these methods are not available... as soon as I try to either repair or install fresh I receive the blue screen with the BAD_POOL_CALLER 0x00000043 error
On a fresh instal..ie pressing enter on the XP setup I get the error after the license agrement
On a repair I select the operating system by entering 1 and then I receive the error.
