XP on Vostro 1400

Question

I just received my Vostro 1400 laptop today. For some reason DELL would not install XP on it, I had to buy it with Vista, but I so hate Vista. I read some stories at this Forum of how the XP clean install went all horribly wrong. How can I avoid this? Also, anyone knows if the drivers CD included with the laptop has XP drivers as well or only Visat? Do I have to download all XP drivers from the support web site?

you need to download the drivers for xp in support.dell.com. what you have is for wndows vista. :)
