XP SP2 update

Question

Dimension 2350 running XP Pro SP1, AVG and Spybot.   The patch will run about 50% then failure message come up and the patch cancles.   I have run a full virus scan and spybot scan to look for problems and have found none prior to the patch.   What am I missing to complete this patch?   Thank you

Turn off all the background applications using msconfig and turn off your spyware and antiviral software before you start the download.

Disconnect everything that's connected to the PC, except keyboard, mouse, monitor. Ron
