Hi chris87tchapa,

I recommend you to run complete Windows update and also check if the system has the latest BIOS version.
I would like to know if you installed the drivers in the order given in the following link:
http://dell.to/X1IKGu

Click on the link below and enter the system service and select the Operating system to get drivers for your computer:

In case the issue still is not resolved, provide the screen shot of the device manager to assist you further.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I ended up having to reinstall windows 7, then windows 8 again on top.

Most of the issues are now resolved following your instruction, however a couple are outstanding,

The mouse pad still doesn't disable properly - I can route through Windows to find an option, but I do use it on occasion.

Also when my laptop isn't plugged into the mains, the screen periodically flickers on and off

Finally, one outstanding Uknown device - Device ACPI\SMO8800\1 was configured. Hardware ID's are the following:
ACPI\VEN_SMO&DEV_8800
ACPI\SMO8800
*SMO8800

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Chris

Do you have the hardware IDs for the other devices?

Also what have you installed so far?

Sorry its because you said 1 down, 2 to go. I thought it meant you had 2 more unknown devices.
