Thank you very much for your response and the link within it. I tested the firewall at the website you provided and my computer passed with flying colors. I also had Pitstop run a check and it too gave a thumbs up to my computer's safety. Of course, I had run all the security tests within the Sygate software, but just in case those tests were a bit biased, I needed independent testers to monitor the program 's security in order to bolster my peace of mind.
Frankly, I like the Sygate Personal Firewall and I think I'll stick with it. I believe Zone Alarm--at least all of the version 5 series--has become too bulky, and tries to accomplish too many things. The same goes for the Symantec programs. The results is that they are all butting heads with each other (including Win SP2) with each program trying to out-do the other with a computer's vital protection services.
