WMS 4.2.1.8 - another bugged release

Upgraded from 4.1.111 and now asks for a license, with a useless script for the Identifier. Import button does nothing either.

the 4.2 release did in fact introduce a registration process for the free version.  I have seen a number of issues with the On-Premises identifier showing code instead of the proper format, which impeded registration.   It has been fixed in later patches (

Page 18 of the release notes details this known issue and workaround.

Is there a reason they can't mention the registration requirement in the documentation about these products

I've upgraded and rolled back 3 times as it appears my WMS instance was wiped due to it popping up this new setup.  I actually completed it once, and had no devices or any imported info from my existing instance.

Guess I'll stick with 4.1

@DELL-Scott H​ Hi, I just did the registration process, asking for a license online and giving the WMS on-prem identifier. I did receive a mail with the license and when trying to register it says "Enter a valid WMS satndar key".

What am I supposed to do now?

Hi,

For info, upgrading from 4.1.1 to 4.2.1 to 4.4.0.211 fixes my issues.

May be this will help other users as well.

Have you tried doing the registration process from the WMS Server?  Others have stated that works.

@DELL-Scott H​ I am on my on-prem WMS server attempting to set up for the first time, so have license, then email , certificate and devices to go. 

running version - 4.4.1.138

product has been registered in the dell digital locker

Any help gratefully received.

Was a while ago this, pretty sure they released a fixed version a few days after I made this post, so I honestly couldn't tell you why you're getting this issue now, sorry.

@another-dell-sufferer​ Hi Sorry for my late answer. I did installed the version 4.4.0.211 on top of version 4.2.1 and I was able to register the license I have generated with the version 4.2.1.

It is running smooth now. I hope it will be the same when I will renew the free license code!
