no keyboard when logging in

no keyboard when logging in

When I connect to my computer, no keyboard with letters show up for me to enter my password to sign in into my account. I only have keyboard buttons like the F commands, ESC, arrow keys, Del, Home, End and Shift.

Also another problem I am experiencing is that it disconnects after about a minute. I am trying to connect to it using my phone Samsung Galaxy S2, I'm not using WiFi on my phone.

Some information you might want to know:

My current version of app in android phone is: 1.2.182
my phone is Samsung Galaxy S2
computer running Windows 7 ultimate
PocketCloud Windows Companion has been installed on my computer
Current version of PocketCloud on computer 2.4.12

Regards,

Ashkan

What version of Android is your Samsung Galaxy S2 using?

When you connect, you can only bring up the function keyboard? Are you connecting via RDP or VNC? If you can see the touch pointer, can you launch the keyboard that way? Or by pressing the menu button and selecting the keyboard from there?

You are connecting via 3G/4G when you are seeing the disconnects after about a minute? It is possible that you are loosing service and this is causing the disconnect. How is the signal when you are experiencing this?

Actually sorry but for some reason the problem happened again and I tried going back to the touch pointer but for some reason I can't bring the keyboard back up. I can only bring these keys up: http://i42.tinypic.com/21nljs5.jpg

To answer the rest of your questions:

All the keyboard button brings is the top things from the picture: http://i42.tinypic.com/21nljs5.jpg The ctrl, windows, alt and tab button. When I press the Function Keys thing. The bottom part comes with the arrow keys and F commands.

I brought the keyboard with letters once but I can't seem to bring it up again.

I am sorry for the late reply, I forgot to check my thread.

The version is 2.3.3. But sometime this month, I think the 4.0 OS upgrade will come for my phone so I will most likely upgrade when it comes out this month or next month.

Yes I can bring up the function keys and the keyboard. But there are no keys with letter on them. Here is a screenshot with all I see:http://i42.tinypic.com/21nljs5.jpg

I didn't use RDP or VNC. I used the auto finder thing and and it found my computer because I signed in my gmail in both programs.

Anyways I will stop here but I just found something that helped me. I was able to access the keyboard from the touch pointer.

Also the issue with disconnection seemed to have disappeared after I logged in my account. I played around with it for over 5 minutes and nothing happened so I guess problem solved.

Thanks for your help!

If you tap the button I highlighted, does it toggle the function keyboard to the standard keyboard?

If your device supports multi-touch, you can tap 3 fingers on the screen to launch the keyboard as well. Let me know if that helps.

No it still doesn't work. It still sometimes appears and sometimes doesn't appear. I tried deleting and installing the app again but I have the same problem.

For some reason, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Just yesterday, I just tried the button you told me and it brought the full keyboard out. But today when I tried it, all it does it make the bottom part appear and disappear. The normal keyboard never comes.

By the way, when I press keyboard, the top part comes and when I press function keys, the bottom part comes. Which I thought was weird because it should be the other way around.

A common reason for a keyboard not displaying on screen is when your device has a bluetooth keyboard (or a device that is recognized as a keyboard by your device - credit card scanners, bar code readers, etc.) that is paired with it. This would stop the keyboard from showing on screen. Please make sure you do not have your device paired with a bluetooth device that may be causing this to happen. Let me know if this helps.

No I always have my Bluetooth disabled so that is not the issue.

Are you using a non standard keyboard on the device?

No, I am pretty sure I am using the normal keyboard. And if that was the case then the keyboard showed never show up. But right now the keyboard sometimes comes and sometimes doesn't.

Have you restarted your device recently? Sometimes funky behavior like this can happen when your device needs a restart. Do you have keyboard auto-activate enabled or disabled in PocketCloud settings?

Keyboard input won't connect with bluetooth headset enabled?

If this is the case, this is a deal breaker for me. I have a bluetooth headset and I am not going to disable it in order for me to use the keyboard. Please verify this as what you are saying is the fix. If it is, I need to ask for a refund. I cannot use this. I have version 1.2.280 on a Galaxy Note with a Saurom rom build.
