Differing logon windows but same firmware?
Differing logon windows but same firmware?
Guys,
I'm a newbie here currently involved in a rollout of C10LE's. They have varying manufacturer dates from Sep 2011 to Nov 2012. All have a blue (XP like) logon window, except for the Sep 2011 terminals which have a grey (W2K like) logon window.
All terminals show the System Version as 7.0_113 (ROM: 1.0B).
Why is there a difference? Is the ThinOS embedded in the firmware (so upgrading the firmware would resolve?)
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like your clients are setup for classic mode vs VDI mode. you can change this setting in the Visual Experience menu under Remote Connections.

DPetroplis... thanks for the suggestion, I wasn't aware of the setting you refer too, it's good to know. Either way, updating to the firmware used in acceptance testing for all terminals seems to have rectified the issue... On speaking with Wyse Support, I understand that the ThinOS is embedded within the firmware, and this embedded version is not necessarily the same (wish this was displayed somewhere in System Information)... I assume i could probably see this in the BIOS, but holding down Delete on startup only seems to force another reboot

Jules,
The version of ThinOS is shown in the system information menu; you listed it in your first post 7.0_133 is the version of the ThinOS firmware. I'm not sure what you mean about the ThinOS version being different than the embedded version?
Any how, glad its resolved.
