I'm going to go ahead and bump this.

Having same exact issue. Flash rendering on the thin client, C90LE7, is poor and maxes out the CPU to 100%. We are rolling out a XenApp infrastructure right now and in our testing with server side rendering of flash content the video is slightly improved but audio quality is poor.

I am having the same issues. We are using C90LE7 and the audio/video quality is not good at all. I see this thread stopped a while back. Was there ever a solution? or did it just fade into the distance?

Hi all,

This is my first message since I've been testing some Wyse thin client only since yesterday.
I've got the same issue than Fugu58. On my two C90LE7 , using LAN, I cant play any videos (youtube/local wmv) with a good user experience. CPU load is huge even for the smallest 240p youtube's video.

I tried to update flash player to the last 10.3 version but the result is the same : I am unable to get a video played properly.

My main goal is to get multimedia redirection (flash / WMP) from Xendesktop / XenApp working on this device.
But it seems there's not enough power or I've missed something ? (video acceleration ?)

Win7 Aero (3D) on these devices is working properly.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

I am having the same issues with all of our C90LE7 devices (pre-production testing). I have tried virtually every combination of base image, Citrix Receiver agent, device firmware etc that is available as a download from the C90LE7 download page. It even happens right out of the box with no modifications (factory image).

On all of them we experience poor re-draw/freeze-ups when using re-sizing or manipulating a Citrix XenApp ICA session window. Running Youtube videos from inside the XenApp session results in Video/Audio lag and choppy performance. We are using "Server-side" rendering for flash video.

However, the same session can be pulled over to a Linux Thin Client, a Wyse D-series Windows 7 client, iPads, Tablets, and any PC we've tried and the video runs smooth as silk. We feel confident that the issue is not with the server-side sessions and instead lies with the C90LE7 based on our testing. Every other end-point device we've tried runs smoothly.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Fugu58,
in order to help us understand the problem you are experiencing, can you expand on the following:
1- What model is the device you are using?
2- Are you connecting to an RDP, ICA, or Virtual host? Please describe the O/S, version and environment.
3- What type of video are you streaming? Can you provide a url for our testing and verification?

If you CPU utilization is hitting 100%, you should look for a different thin client (like the D or Z class, which have dual/quad core versions). The C class has a lower end single-core processor and is at the low end of the thin clients.
