Touch screens - Wyse 5010 Zero Client for Citrix - XenDesktop

Hello,

I have reviewed all the posts regarding touch screens but still need a little more clarity. I would like to use a Wyse 5010 for Citrix with a touchscreen for a *** application. This would be delivered via a Xendesktop not a published app. I am aware that in multiple places ELO, Microtouch & Fastpoint are mentioned as the supported touchscreens. Does that mean the 5010 needs to recognize the touch screen before it even gets to the Xendesktop or can it just be connected to the 5010 and all the drivers be on the Xendesktop image.

I am not trying to be difficult but the online answers while close don't give me the sense of closure on this question. I do appreciate your time and help clarifying this for me.

Thank you.

To put it in layman's terms, If the peripheral device is not recognized by the endpoint (thin client) it cannot be re-directed.

The thin client needs to recognize all devices attached so that it can be accessed by either the thin client or to be made available to a remote host as a re-directed device. Since WTOS lite is a small, closed operating system, it only includes a certain number of drivers, and additional drivers cannot be installed.

Hope that answers the question.
