Dell bios upgrade as bad as a hacker
I did the last updates (bios and whatever, it was several files) from Dell about a week ago and my experience I would describe as being the same as having my hard drive encrypted by hackers. After working with Dell customer support, the final conclusion was, to solve my problem, I'd need to back up everything on my computer and have them reset my system to factory specs. How is this different from a hacker forcing me to do the same, except Dell gave me a warning first?
The problem: after the update, if I left my pc unattended for a few hours, the only way I can get it back up is to physically unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and then plug it back in again. Powering the pc off with the power switch won't allow the pc to turn on. Without unplugging the pc I just have a blank screen.
Apparently Dell system programmers aren't that good, as this is their hardware and their version of an operating system.

Always include the exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts!
How were these updates installed, via Windows Update, Dell Update, Dell SupportAssist?
What version of BIOS did you install? And what other updates did you install? This info may help diagnose if you have an issue with a BIOS update, with some Windows or driver(s), or possibly a coincidental issue with the PSU...
Next time you have to unplug PC, pull the power cord from rear of PC and press/hold PC's power button for ~30 sec. Then reconnect power cord and see if that fixes the problem.
