@mtbikes For privacy reason, you should not post your service tag in this forum. @DELL-Cares asked that you send that information via Direct / Private message to him. I assume your reference to HDMI2 you are referring to the HDMI connector on the monitor because your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti only has one HDMI connector and the computer (Intel Integrated Graphics) only has one HDMI connector. Since you did not tell us the model of your monitor I cannot verify that your monitor has two HDMI connectors, but I can tell you the all HDMI connectors identical and standard.

Some Dell 32 inch monitors DO have 2 HDMI in ports (as well as a Display Port).. I've got a Dell S3221QS for instance and have that. It supports Picture in Picture, and it needs at least 2 input ports to do that. See https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-32-curved-4k-uhd-monitor-s3221qs/apd/210-axkm/monitors-monitor-accessories

take a pic of the cable and HDMI 1 and 2 you are talking about then upload to your reply.  are the HDMI 1 and 2 referring to video ports of a discrete video card of your PC?

I think you have a video card that looks this.  It has three DP ports and one HDMI.  just hope you are not confusing DP with HDMI.

@mtbikes @redxps630 is correct, there is only one HDMI port on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 36060 Ti graphics card according to the description on the Dell site that lists the options for the graphics cards for the XPS 8940.

I thought that the graphics card was part of the motherboard on my computer.

Must be I have just one HDMI port on the computer ..  and the other must be DP .

can you tell me what a DP port is? I did download the manual for my machine and couldn't find any reference..

Btw, your pc was originally configured to have both onboard video port (shown in your uploaded pc) and the discrete 3060ti gpu (shown in my last reply).   In this config you were supposed to connect video to the discrete gpu only.   I am guessing you got this PC from a third party who took out the oem gpu and give you the pc without 3060ti.  otherwise with the 3060ti still installed you would not be able to get video from on board video, unless I am missing something.

I originally thought the post was about the MONITOR, not the card?

When I was having problems with my 32inch, I was able to in BIOS select either that card, the on-board video or BOTH to be used. If the video card IS disabled (at least on my XPS8940) the HDMI port on the video card connects to the on-Board one, in my case, an HD750.

I think it works that way as well as I recall by using Device Manager and DISABLING the video card.

My card is an RTX2060 if that matters? The 'stock' reference card from NVidia does show 2 HDMI outports on the card, but Dell seems to use MSI's and there is only one HDMI out on my card.

@mtbikes I don't know about the options on the model of the XPS 8940 you purchased, but if you look at this model, https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/xps-desktop-special-edition/spd/xps-8940-se-desktop/xd8940ser30h, the NVIDIA GeForce RX 3060 Ti is a $150 option. If you go about half-way down the page you will see the types of ports listed for that graphics card under 'Ports & Slots'. The discrete graphics card depends on the version of the XPS 8940 you select and you have an option to select a different card. On some versions of the XPS 8940 you can select no graphics card. The graphics card is not part of the motherboard, it is an addon card the plugs into the motherboard. Look closely at the ports on the graphics card, the HDMI port connector is a different shape than the DisplayPort connector.

@mtbikes Your picture shows your monitor connected to the Intel integrated graphics and not the discrete graphics card. @redxps630 is correct, you should try to use the discrete graphics card if you have one (before your Service Tag was removed I saw that the Service Tag you post indicated that the original configuration of your PC included a discrete graphics card).
