@homeboy14 You do not need to format the drive before installing Windows. The Windows installation will partition and format the drive. I suggest you wipe the drive and let the Windows installation do the rest.

Always include exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts.

Do you want to do a clean OS install?

Are you replacing a HDD with the SSD or do you want to keep the HDD but make the PC boot from the SSD?

You can image the existing HDD using something like Macrium Reflect (free) and save the image on external USB HDD.

If you're replacing a HDD with the SSD, after making the image swap in the new SSD and copy the Macrium image onto it. You'll need the bootable USB that Macrium can create for you to boot the PC to copy the image onto the SSD.

If you're adding the SSD, and keeping a HDD, you can clone the HDD onto the SSD using Macrium. But then you'll have to boot from the SSD using the F12 boot menu as long as the HDD is still connected. So boot from the SSD via F12 and open Windows Disk Management. Initialize the HDD (ALL FILES DELETED!). Once the HDD is initialized, reboot normally and PC will boot from SSD and HDD can be used for storage.
