RAM for xps8930

Question

Hello to all. this is my 1st post. Good to be here.

I have a xps 8930 pc i7- 9700

It has 8gb of RAM installed in one of the 4 ports. The ram part no is..

HMS81GU6DJR8N-VK. I need to add ram as it is running slow and 80% used. Can anyone advise me on where to I buy additional ram. Bases in dublin.

For XPS 8930, search for memory with Dell part Y7N41.  See memory specs for your system. You can shop at Elara Online, PC House Dublin, Purple Panda, or Sure Look IT.

Hi Thank you for your reply. I have looked inside and I have 1 memory slot (white) with 8gb in it. The other 3 are free. As I need to upgrade, Should I purchase the same memory card and put it in the other white slot.

When purchasing memory do you use this ref no?

Yes, you can use the model # for a reference #.  Whether you replace the original 8GB stick or not, it's best to make sure all sticks of RAM match.

Also, you can use the PC model for a search term, something like 'XPS 8930 RAM.'  Then make sure the RAM matches what you're looking for.

Look for DDR4 desktop only ram on eBay Ireland. I think 8930 is relatively forgiving about ram as long as speed matches oem
