XPS 8930, Radeon RX 570, no video
I just purchased an 8930 i7-8700, 8GB ram and got an MSI Radeon RX 570 Armor OC to go with it. When I install the 570 using the DVI, I get no video at all. I plugged in my old gt 1030 and it works fine. Thoughts?

Well the new card works right out of the box with no changes to the bios!
(What would be the fun of upgrading if you didn't hit a challenge or two...:Embarrassed:)

OK....not trying to be obvious here but did you try an HDMI connection, and did you remember to plug in the power plug from the PSU to the video card? The 1030 did not need it, the RX 570 must have it.

If the 8930 has Class 3 UEFI bios there is no Compatibility Service Module (CSM) in bios aka no way to turn Secure boot off.
This would mean ONLY the OEM Dell version would work at all.

Service manual for XPS 8930 says:
Secure Boot Control - Allows you to enable or disable the secure boot control
So turning Secure Boot off, like I suggested above, is certainly doable, but OP hasn't reported if that was tried and what happened...

No, I didn't turn off secure boot.... too late, I sent it back and will try a nvidia card - they seem to work without messing with the bios...

Unless you bought an OEM NVidea card, you're probably still going to have to turn off Secure Boot in BIOS setup.
Secure Boot is a Microsoft thing that's supposed to prevent malicious software and unauthorized operating systems (=Ubuntu) from loading during start-up. So if whoever manufactured the specific card you ordered didn't pay M$ to get their driver signed, Secure Boot will consider it malicious and won't let it load...

Hopefully since I ordered the same brand as what is in it and working now, I won’t have to change the bios. But if that’s all I have to do to get it to work, that’s an easy fix.

It's all a question of whether the one you ordered comes with a signed driver or not...
You could have saved all this time/energy if you'd disabled Secure Boot with the previous card you tried. :Stickouttongue:
