Studio XPS 8100, replacing HDD help
After receiving Stop Code: CRITICAL PROCESS DIED error along with Error Code: 0F00:1332 (Msg: Disk - Block 55591552 and 55591680: Interrupt Request(IRQ) did not set in time messages during diagnostics I decided to buy a replacement HDD (WD Black 3.5 SATA) as it sounded like my HDD was failing and I was unable to boot windows or reset/restore. I have physically replaced the HDD but am not sure of next steps as I am unable to find password needed when selecting option F2 ( I never recall making a password at all for this CPU and bought new). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time encountering this problem or replacing a HDD.

Thank you VIc, is that step necessary for what I am trying to do?

There is a procedure for clearing the password in the service manual. It involves moving the password reset jumper from pins 2 & 3 to pins 1 & 2, powering the computer on, then powering the computer off and moving the jumper back to the original pins. See here: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_studio_xps_desktop/studio-xps-8100_service%20manual_en-us.pdf
While you are inside the computer, you may want to consider replacing the coin cell on the motherboard given the age of the system if the battery has never been replaced before.

How do I go about loading the new OS onto the new HDD?

Not necessary for loading the OS on the new HDD, but useful if you need to get into the BIOS for any reason. As it is now it is not very useful not knowing the password.

Windows 10, good. Google search Microsoft Media Creation Tool, download and run the tool, and follow the instructions to create bootable media, either USB drive or DVD, to install Windows 10.
