XPS 8930, case swap Fractural Define R6, fan error

Hi, Referencing this older thread, I've done the case swap into a Fractural Define R6 USB-c case and am using a icue H100i RGB Pro XT to cool the CPU. I've put the front I/O in as suggested but I keep getting a fan error. No matter which configuration I have tried the CPU or top fan causes a boot error. The case has a PWM fan controller which I've tried using in multiple configurations plugging fans into different slots on the PWM fan hub and different CPU / top fan but nothing seems to avoid the errors. Any advice would be great! Thanks

The only thing that has worked to fix the fan error has been to not plug in the PWM from the fan hub and just plug in the original fans which are now sat ontop of the case until I can get a couple of extension leads and somehow install them in the case. Having extra fans not the end of the world but I might need the space later on. I’m now getting a power button error. The case power lead comes with 8 pins and I don’t know how to make a jumper, or is there an adapter I can purchase? Thanks

Leaving out the case PWM fan hub try connecting one of the radiator fans to TOP_FAN and the other radiator fan to CPU_FAN. The power button jumper for the 5 and 9 pins is described in detail in the thread you linked. Drop some photos of your new rig!

Thanks, hopefully all the parts I’ll need will arrive before the weekend and I’ll try the fan solution you suggested and post some pictures : )

So all the things I purchased from the big auction site.

USB C Type-C Male to Front Type E Female Adapter Motherboard Converter

2 Ports USB 3.0 A Male to 20 Pin Male Header Motherboard Extension Adapter Cable

9 Pin USB 2.0 Motherboard Cable USB A to 9 Pin USB Header Cable Cord Adapter

30cm PWM Fan Extension Cable 4 Pin Male Plug to Female Socket Lead [006336] x2

40PCS DUPONT JUMPER WIRE LEAD BREADBOARD CABLE ARDUINO JUMP HOBBY FEMALE MALE

Decided to buy cables rather than a PCIe with header cables for the front panel connections as the old front panel was just sitting at the bottom of the case so thought I could make use of it this way. Also none of the cards gave all the functionality I needed in one card and was more expensive than just getting the cables. This way also keeps the two free PCIe slots free incase I need them for something else later on. (Which I'll come back to later)

Fans no longer cause BIOS start-up error so no longer need the old dell ones. I don't know if it was the suggestion from ProfessorW00d that worked or whether it was because the Corsair 100i Pro is now connected to the USB 2 port thanks to the new cable.

To fill one of the PCI slots that was free I have ordered some Noctua NF-A9 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (92mm, Brown) fans to cool my Dell RTX 2060 as it runs hot and loud thanks to its single fan. I'm going to attach them to a pcie fan bracket (Akasa PCI Slot Bracket for Mounting One/Two 80mm or 92mm Fans) that I found on the big online bookstore then I assume I need to take off the current fan case from the GPU.
