XPS 8940 .... Adding a second GPU?
I have an XPS 8940 with a stock RTX 1660 Super and I've been trying to add another Dell branded 1660 Super using a rising in either the x1 or x4 PCIE slot, but the computer only boots to a Dell splash screen and nothing more. The second GPU has it's own power supply so it's not an overload situation and I have played around in the bios by disabling Secure Mode, etc. The bios *does* see the new card, 'VGA Compatible', I think, and it shows two Nvidia devices elsewhere, but it still won't boot. Does anyone know if it's possible? I'm stumped.
Thanks

Think you answered your own question...
Besides, x1 and x4 are likely too slow for a video card which uses x16, even if 2 GPUs were allowed.

Thanks for the reply. In the Setup and Specs manual it says: "PCI-Express x1 (and x4) slot: Connect a PCI-Express card such as *graphics*, audio, or network card to enhance the capabilities of your computer." so adding a GPU should be a possibility. As for the GPU in an x1, it was just for mining during downtime so it should be fine for that.
