XPS 8940 Desktop
XPS 8940
I'm in the UK and need to increase the power on my desktop as I'm running a hungrier GPU. I received a DPS-600 EM-00 A from my supplier instead of the expected 500W unit. It looks the same size, and an AI enquiry suggests it will work. I would appreciate anyone with real world experience before I start rebuilding the PC. Thanks!

Interesting, I Googled the PSU and got some conflicting results?
Some list the XPS8940. and some do not?
For example. Amazon does:
====================
=================
So I'd assume if you have one of the listed PSU's now, it should be OK?
However, Battery Club, which lists it for $50 (USD) less does not:
---------------------
● Compatible with Dell 3040 3250 3650 3046 5040 7040 7050 MT. All our products have passed CE testing and are among the best in the battery field.
---------------------
Hopefully, someone who has done this can answer? I guess you can get it if you can return it? Just looking at the connections and be sure they are the same I guess would give you a clue if it could work?

@DELL-Chris M it appears there is a new Dell oem 600w psu with 6+4+4 white pin for XPS8940 and G5 5000 (and Optiplex 7080/7090)
DP/N T8M40
Size: 220*82*62mm
can you pls tell us if this is officially validated by Dell?
Thank you

T8M40 is not listed in the DPMD. None of those PC models above list a 600W PSU in the DPMD.
