XPS 8940, Heatsink replacement
Anyone replace the stock heat-sink/fan on an XPS? A friend recommended a Noctua NH-U12A as a replacement option, but I figured I'd stop by here to get some opinions.
Seems like it would fit and clear the memory, any thoughts?

@DELL-Chris M what is the part number for the heatsink with the copper heat pipes and fan?
Also what is the part number for the optional 120mm front fan and bracket?

@Gambit_man I looked on eBay and ended up using pri_cut_services to print it for me.

Interesting. The stock cooler originally fitted in my XPS 8940 has the part number DVH85, although it looks very similar to the other 65W coolers.

The XPS 8940 (which I know is similar) has one 2.5 bay that can hold 2x 2.5 drives but only has one caddie. It also has two discrete 3.5 bays, both of which I'm using.

I grabbed a basic Dell heat sink that goes on the K series CPU from ebay, and it works beautifully. It dropped the idle temp 20 degrees c!
Took all of one minute to fit (and several minutes cleaning the thermal grease of the CPU)

I did Managed to install Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black but now my XPS 8940 with an I7-11500K looks like Frankenstein.
