XPS 8950, manual CPU fan control?
Is there any way to manually control the fan speed on the CPU fans? I have found a way to control the GPU fans, but not the CPU fans. I have tried using SpeedFan, but it was unable to detect any fans.

Did you try enabling the option above? That gave me access to the fans on my 8940 but it's either 100% or "idle". Can't control exactly.

Not really. It would be nice if there was though.

What would be your purpose for this control?

Nothing specific in mind for me. I just like to have manual control over stuff in general.

Noctua NF-A12x25 FLX 3-pin fans will not be modulated and spin at constant rpm. The fans come with adapters for rpm control.
with no adapter the the fan speed will be 2000 rpm
with the 9V adapter the fan speed will be 1700 rpm
with the 7V adapter the fan speed will be 1350 rpm
