Back up your files immediately to prevent information loss, and then contact the computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace the disk."
There are no soft fixes for physically bad hard drives.

I don't know.
But I do know that Crystal DiskInfo and/or the free PassMark util will check your drive's SMART status.
