BIOS Verification failed error

This support page may help. Also did you try going all the way to the newest version? I ask because that is a pretty big jump and I would suggest updating to a version only 2 or 3 versions newer at a time.

Thanks for the link. Cannot continue the update because the verification process is not complete? How do I find the verification version? Running Linux Ubuntu

Have downloaded the driver .exe file to update the bios but I think the flash usb  will not be accepted until the verification process is complete? How do I do that?

Which BIOS .exe file did you download?

You might try running a BIOS Recovery using the .rcv file for latest BIOS 3.19.1, if whichever .exe you downloaded won't run successfully via the F12 Flash Update option. 

Read/follow the BIOS Recovery instructions carefully...

Thanks RoHe. Downloaded the file by going to dell support and putting in the laptop model which indicated the file was 'critical'..See link below.
