Blue screen crash while using Focusrite 2i2 interface

Just got a new XPS-15 as a workstation to record and transmit voice recordings, and I'm experiencing a problem I seem to see a lot of on these posts, namely a blue screen crash when using my audio interface, Focusrite Scarlett. I've run the troubleshooting scans and I've uninstalled and re-installed the Focusrite. My recording software is Pro Tools First, but the blue screen error message mentions Focusrite, if it mentions any cause at all. Is there some kind of pre-installed software that is conflicting with my interface? I hate to do it, but I may have to return my PC and go over to the Apple dark side!

I have a home recording studio.

I've field tested several XPS 15 laptops for Dell and never had any blue screen issues with my recording interface units (an MOTU and a Behringer).

What is the exact model number of your XPS 15?  The new/newer models that I've tested in the last year or so do not have USB 2.0 or even 3.0 ports.  They required an adapter to connect USB 2.0/3.0 devices.

Another issue, the 2i2 from what I recall is a bus powered unit and requires USB power from the PC.  Again if there is no USB 2.0 port on the PC and you are using an adapter there is a possibility that is the problem.

New MAC's do not have USB ports either.
