CMOS battery for XPS 9530
I need a CMOS battery. I get five beeps when I first start it. Second boot always works. I removed the battery and it only shows 1.1 volts. I ordered one and it was too small and wouldn't plug in . The one I have looks like the standard CR 2032 but of course it has wires connected to it and is sealed in plastic.
I just can't seem to find the one for this XPS 9530 laptop. Thanks

@ejn63
Thanks, that one will work but its used. I assume it will be ok.
I was getting four beeps when I would first turn it on.
I took the two 8 gig ram modules out and used just one and then the other but still got the beeps. Those four beeps have not showed up since but I know its not fixed.
It has now started giving me five beeps which points to CMOS. I thought it had a rechargeable CMOS battery in it because it shows RTC where it plugs in. I left it plugged in for four days but still can't get it to show over 1.2 volts .
A good friend of mine gave me this laptop back in 2019. The Geek Squad told them it had a bad HD. I replaced it with a 250 gig SSD and all has been well until this year.

I entered the service tag in the place you linked and it said this CMOS battery will work. I will give it a go. THANKS

Sometimes those batteries are rechargeable, sometimes just non-rechargeable Lithium cells (like a 3-volt CR2032) ... but with leads. Carefully cut away the heat-shrink on your old one and find out.
I've come across this a few times now. I think because the good desktops are either still being used somewhere or they get recycled. It's the laptops that get put in closet and not turned-on for months or even years.
One thing that also helps ... whenever a computer ever has a failing CMOS battery ... after you install a new one ALWAYS do a full reset of CMOS (usually called Restore Default Values) to clean out the garbage or partially set values.
There was this one:

Also, I just took my Dell Inspiron 5570 Laptop out of storage of 2 years.
Won't boot without AC-Adapter connected.
BIOS error about losing Date/Time again.
Run battery down to 20% (but excellent health says BIOS).
I Default-ed the BIOS and Options (to clear any corruption) and again reprogrammed as above.
Looking back at my notes, I see that it's CR2032 was already replaced 3 years ago. So, I just charged it's run battery back to 100%. Used it for a while, and then unplugged AC-Adapter. Been turning it on once every few days and it is fine (no Time & Date error) and run battery is holding a charge just fine. So, there is that.
