Dell active pen PN771M

anybody knows if this model dell active pen PN771M is suitable to use with XPS 13 7390 2in1 ? I saw this dell active pen PN771M in Dell retail store which comes together with the new Inspiron 13 2in1 model. The design of this pen is very easy to write and draw compared to PN579X.  Can see the pen from the link below. It is very nice and lightweight. https://www.dell.com/en-sg/shop/tablets/inspiron-13-7000-2-in-1/spd/inspiron-13-7306-2-in-1-laptop#carousel-example-with-caption

It doesn't appear on the list of active pens supported by the 7390 2-in-1.  Given that this model is older than the pen, that may be why -- or it may not be compatible.  Your best bet is to call Dell and ask, but my educated guess is that it's not supported.

I bought a 13 7000 2 in 1 but this pen doesn't work. Looks that it is paired but it makes nothing.

I spent 2 hours in Dells chat but they don't no nothing about this product. It is really frustrating

It does not appear in the list of Dell active pens. So strange

Hello, were you able to order PN771M? I also need one, but haven't been able to find it anywhere.

I got my Inspiron 7306 Black Edition which comes with the Dell Active Pen PN771M. The pen has a rechargeable battery which gets charged when housed in the dedicated slot in the laptop chassis. Hence, it is supported only with certain models which are able to house this specific active pen. You should be able to pair the pen and use it with a dell pc which supports pen input (just a guess, never tried it), but would not be able to charge it.

Hi AnaceJ

Were you able to resolve the issue with your PN771M?

I have the same issue with a 6 month laptop, its been 2 months since it stopped working, tried everything and Dell not helping.

There is a manufacturing flaw in the PN771M stylus. An oversight in engineering if you will. Don't try this at home.

After mine failed, I disassembled it to find that the charging pins are placed in the shell with no springs or anything to keep them in contact with the board, just friction. After some time the pins will lose connection with the board and no longer charge the stylus. When I removed the shell and placed the contacts directly on the board, the stylus lit up and started charging. I don't recommend buying a new one, it'll just do the same thing in time.
