Dell Update recommends incompatible network drivers for XPS 13 9310
I'm having an issue were Dell Update keeps recommending network adapter drivers which are not compatible with the model card I have in my variant of the 9310. This version includes a AX500-DBS from Killer using a Qualcomm chipset while the other 1650/1675 controllers from Killer feature an Intel chipset. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Dell Update and that has made no difference.

@GonzoP
Recently joined the Dell world and I find it irresponsible that Dell continues to sell the AX500 card that is no longer supported by Intel (not even listed anymore on their page). I am awaiting delivery of my first Dell laptop with that same card. Do you experience connection problems or is it working ok?

@0301chrisYes, I have experienced intermittent issues with this Wi-Fi card where it no longer sees any networks(strange as I live in a city) at infrequent random times and mostly when the computer is waking from sleep/hibernation. Whenever this issue has occurred it can usually be fixed with a quick restart. I've read that there are many problems with this Killer AX500-DBS card when using Linux, which is a bummer as I was hoping to tinker with some distributions on this laptop eventually.
I agree that is bad on Intel/Dell for seemingly dropping development of any new drivers for this chipset, which makes Dell Update and Assist pushing the wrong diver version to me even more odd. Once Intel purchased Killer it seems that they decided to skip any documentation for Killer network cards based on Qualcomm chips.

There are clearly bugs in their update distribution system and in my experience it is not limited to the wifi adapter drivers.
I could live with update glitches if Dell shown even a modicum of interest and honesty in dealing with the problems designed into the machines they are selling.
My computer exhibited the adapter fail-to-start on wake-up problem from the first day I bought it, over 6 months ago. Dell's disorganized, ineffective and almost comical attempts to understand and remedy this situation would have made for a good e p i s o d e of Silicon Valley. Ending in the experience of having this website reject this message because I included the word 'e p i s o d e'.
I have records of 185 communications with Dell, via phone, email and the Dell Community website. After suffering through a long series of often nonsensical suggestions by nameless technicians who clearly not read any of the previous correspondence, they offered a replacement computer. However, the replacement had not only the same wifi issue but exhibited random freezing and display abnormalities. When I returned the replacement instead of the original it set off a lengthy interchange where I was twice threatened that my warrantee would be voided because I had not 'returned' the machine. As if the warrantee had any utility whatsoever.
I don't know if Dell has has incompetent managers, if its engineers don't care or if it decided that the core business of hardware manufacture is just not that important to its corporate future.
This is the last Dell machine I will ever purchase

So I've tried all recommend steps from Dell and spent hours messaging, on the phone, and with a tech remoting in to my laptop and the issue is still not resolved. Dell Update and SupportAssist programs do not reflect the latest/correct updates for my model. Please see the below pictures showing new audio and graphics drivers listed on the site which are not yet installed on my computer ...
