Dell Warranty Transfer

So I bought a used XPS laptop from a person and he transferred the ownership to my name. I did not receive any confirmation email from dell so I contacted them. I was told that the ownership transfer was initiated and accepted. I am currently the owner of the laptop according to Dell records.

My question is how do I check it myself through Dell website that I am currently the owner. How do I verify if my email address is correctly associated with this laptop under dell records. the laptop has currently 3 years prosupport plus and i want to extend it for another year.

Register the service tag yourself:

https://www.dell.com/support/retail-registration/en-us/

Also note that ownership transfer and warranty transfer are separate issues, particularly if you're registering in a country other than that where the system was originally purchased (once you register the system, you can look up the warranty status).  Not all warranty types/support packages apply outside the country of purchase.
