dell xps 13 9310 battery replacement
hello,
according to what ive read, the battery in my xps 13 0310 - X1W0D is the same and interchangeable with 52twh. so i was able to get one of the 52twh new. heres the funny thing. the 52twh works fine and runs the laptop, however, it tells me there is no battery installed. it says it may be a loose cable or a software glitch or bios needs to be updated. i am running the latest bios. ive double and triple checked connection, its fine. it also tells me to remove any power ac adapter remove battery and hold down power button for 15-20 seconds. ive done that. it still works and boots up laptop but it also still tells me that there is no battery.
now im beginning to question if these 2 battery models which it says are the identical battery with a different model number are actually the same.
would appreciate any input on this.
thanks

sorry one other thing, the 52twh was supposedly an OEM dell battery or at least the seller claims it as. it does say dell on it, however who really knows. anything can be faked

That is the correct battery model for your system. If the one you purchased doesn't work, return it to the seller under whatever warranty they provide.

@ejn63
have you ever seen this before, where the battery seems to work but is not recognized as being there?

Yes, I have -- it's common with third party batteries and with batteries that have been "rebuilt" with new cells. It can also happen with defective batteries.
On the battery is a long series of alphanumerics that usually starts with DP/N, CN, etc. What is that string?

Post the full code from that sticker (it will include the date the battery manufactured).

If that battery is original (OEM) Dell, it was made in July, 2020 -- so it's fairly old. If you paid anywhere near the retail price for it (about $100-110 or so), I would ask the seller for something more recent. If the battery was substantially discounted, it's probably because it's so old, but the seller should still have some sort of return policy.

thank you so much for you help. im going to ask for a refund. im almost sure his stock of batteries are all in the same age range so exchanging it for another old battery is a NO.
thanks again!

so far i have tried 3 different sellers and all 3 times the batteries had issues. the first one may have works but it wasnt even the same battery. i got a 722kk which was for a dell xps 13 9310 but NOT an 2 in 1. second i got a DOA one and 3rd was the above where the battery kind of worked but NOT recognized by laptop.
i might have to break down and buy it directly from dell but that $125 price tag is a bit hefty.
any advice? buy direct from dell or....others?
thanks
