Dell XPS 15 9500 Bluetooth Mouse Laggy/Freezing
Hi,
I'm having issues with my XPS 15 9500 and my Logitech MX Anywhere 2S mouse. This problem has only recently started (~1.5 month) and it causes the mouse cursor to move in a "jerky" way and it will also freeze frequently. You can actually see the mouse has disconnected from the laptop for a few seconds and then reconnected, the mouse is absolutely fine on other laptops.
I have tried everything:
- I have updated the Killer AX1650s drivers, rolled back the drivers, uninstalled and then reinstalled etc...
- I have tried the following registry changes in this post: https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/XPS-9310-Bluetooth-lag-with-Logitech-MX-Keys-MX-Master-3/m-p/7795277/highlight/true#M77883
- I have tried disabling power saving on the Bluetooth device.
- I have updated to the latest BIOS.
- Support assist drivers are up-to-date.
Seems to be very similar to issues in the following posts:

Has anyone managed to find a fix?
Dell, this isn't acceptable for such an expensive laptop.
Alan

I had this problem with an MX Anywhere 3. I fix it by changing the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in the bluetooth settings of the Intel Wireless Bluetooth device.

I have since discovered that when I connected a Bluetooth headset to the laptop, the mouse issues go away. As soon as I disconnect the headset the mouse issues return.
Somehow the headset is keeping the Bluetooth connection "alive/active" but when it is the mouse alone the connection is intermittent.
Any ideas anyone?
I am speaking to Dell support (who have been very responsive) and assisting with some tests, I am awaiting their response.

I agree that this issue is unacceptable. I'm having the same problem. The track pad is very smooth but the Bluetooth mouse is a choppy mess.

Hi Alan,
Ok the registry options worked for me! And did you also add the missing registry entries, and restart your PC? I needed to both before it worked for me. Hope this also helps you.
I also have tried your trick to connect a Bluetooth headset and it works, but only if there is a audio send over the device, so indeed it needs to be active!
It seems the BT goes into a power saving very fast. I have tried the different drivers (intel vs killer) as well, but no luck.
So in the end the registry trick worked to disable that power saving bug.
I hope you have solved this.

Wow I'm seeing many people are having this issue. At least it's reassuring I didn't get a defective 4500$ laptop. see my post:
