Dell XPS 9575 multiple hardware issues and poor client support

Hi,

After 1year and half after buying this "high grade" computer and very disappointing customer support, I wanted to share all my experience.
I've started a new career step as a freelance in Feb 2019 after more than 14 years working in different positions with a lot of different computers.
I can consider myself as being someone taking care of his stuff and particularly my principal tool to perform my business. So I decided to go for this quite expensive laptop.
I would say that the built quality when I received it was good and I felt that it was a good choice. Starting in September (7 month old), my left shift key started to react randomly, it took one month more so that the key was unusable. As it was under warranty, it was replaced by a brand new keyboard: great, let's go back to work but the battery life started to decrease dramatically in the weeks after.

I first started to update, reinstall, try to check if any apps was draining the battery etc. Finally in Feb 2020, had a call with the support who explained me how to generate a battery status report which confirmed that the max battery charge was below half of the original value. They confirmed that it will fall under warranty and sent a new battery (as this is my main tool, can't afford to send it for 2 weeks) that I can install. The new battery received was faulty, I had to switch it back with old one multiple times to confirm this. DELL send another new one and great, in March 2020 felt like a new laptop: working keyboard and expected battery life.

In May, the same key (left shift) started to have exactly same symptoms then in September. I could not believe it was the same so ordered a "air spray" to try to clean but nothing better and the symptoms occured more and more so I called back the support in June. As I bought this computer as a company (freelance) my official warranty is 1 year but if I had bought this computer as a private individual I was still under warranty. So DELL refuses to do anything about this. In addition, I asked to know more about paying for a new keyboard. They told me that they were out of stock and didn't have any idea about when I can expect a new keyboard and it's only when I would accept the quote that they will contact a local partner who could answer about the "when".
Few days after the call, the left shift key cap broke. I'm now using a piece of bank card to replace it and it worked even a bit better at the beginning.

Now, the left Ctrl key started to behave strangely as few times when using it and after releasing it, the Ctrl key is still active. I removed the cap, everything is clean, mechanic seems moving as expected but still strange behaviour.

Today I ran a battery report and I'm almost half of the original max quantity.

So honestly on a computer of that cost, this kind of REPEATABLE hardware issue is unacceptable and the way DELL is dealing with this is disappointing. I'm near to the point of removing the battery, connecting an external keyboard and using this as a desktop computer.

I can assure you that this will be my last DELL product.

This surely no help me, I don't expect anything more from DELL but hope any potential buyer can read it.
